The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences combines academic tradition with a modern approach to research and education. For over 30 years, we have been developing knowledge, competencies and social responsibility in five key areas of science.
The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce (formerly the Faculty of Law, Administration and Management at the Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce) was established on 29 September 1992 under the name Faculty of Management and Administration, based on the Institute of Social Sciences. In 2008, the Faculty was granted the right to award the degree of Doctor of Humanities in the discipline of political science.
In 2015 launched studies in the field of law and changed the name of the unit to the Faculty of Law, Administration and Management. The next milestone came in 2019, when the Faculty was granted the right to award doctoral degrees in the discipline of legal sciences, followed in 2020 by the discipline of security studies. In 2019, following a reorganisation of the Faculty, its name was changed to the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences.
Nowadays, the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences comprises five academic disciplines, of which the following four hold scientific category B+:
security studies, legal studies, political science and public administration, and management and quality studies. The academic discipline of economics and finance holds scientific category B.
The Scientific Councils of the individual Institutes forming part of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences conduct promotion procedures for the award of doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in their respective disciplines: the Institute of Security Studies – security studies; the Institute of Legal Studies – legal studies; the Institute of International Relations and Public Policy – political science and public administration; and the Institute of Management – management and quality studies.
Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce provides doctoral education at its Doctoral School within the social sciences section across four academic disciplines: security studies, legal studies, political science and public administration, and management and quality studies.
The Faculty offers 13 fields of study:

In addition, the Faculty offers the following postgraduate programmes: Civil Protection and Civil Defence Administration, Information Analysis, Internal Audit, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager, Modern Local Government, Public Relations in New Media, Financial Management and Accounting, Human Resources Management.
